September is usually chosen for the return of Lodges to its Masonic activities. This is the usual practice in the North Hemisphere. Sun Yat Sen Lodge follows that tradition and our works will resume “strength and vigor” by the middle of this month. We had a masonic year 2016-2017 full of events and challenges and 2017-2018 will be no different. 2017 is the year that, in every corner of the Earth, the foundation of the Grand Lodge of London and Greenwich has been commemorated. Lodges and Grand Lodges adapt to its own surrounding circumstances on this regard and Lodge Sun Yat Sen will do it also. A lecture is being prepared and may follow the design of a public conference given by some guests that we ask to talk us about the relevance of the foundation of Speculative Freemasonry. A walking tour to Macau masonic and symbolical reminiscences is also programmed. So is time to go back to work. As we always mention, Masonic visitors are mostly welcome to visit us. Our premises are provisory, not permanent and we don’t have a space that maybe visited by friends and the public but the admission of active Freemasons to our works are assured. Just send a message to our secretary to email@example.com and a reply will be send to you as soon as possible.
Lodge Sun Yat Sen is going to suspend its activities for the Summer holidays, this year a little earlier than usual, because of two main reasons: the very warm weather that is striking Macau, on this June; the need for our Brethren, who are expatriates, to travel abroad to be with their families and have a very praiseworthy leave. The Lodge has fulfilled its objectives under the current leadership; new officials are been installed in their positions. We will resume our activities after Summer. This year 2017 [6017 in our own numbering] all the Masonic World has been concentrated in the commemoration of the 300 years of the Grand Lodge of London and Macau Freemasons will associate happily with this very considerable and international event. A time has come, as everywhere, for the Masons to talk about what they do, what values bring them together as Fraternity and why they are a very discrite society. To this claim for a more open and transparent civil society we will respond positively. In the proper time, we will publicize that event and have everyone who looks to know a little more about Freemasonry may come and assist. A fine Summer holidays for everyone.
The time of parties and festivities has ended. Our Masonic year restarts this coming thursday at Macau, usual hour. 2017 will be a terrific year in initiatives and projects. We have some profane in the queue to be initiated according to the beautiful traditions and rituals we inherited from our masonic ancestors. We have Brothers of the Lodge to be elevated to the Second Degree and others to be raised to Master Masons. They are concluding two years of apprenticeship and dedication what makes the Master of the Lodge particular proud. Masonry, after all, is about persistence and dedication. And work. We cannot turn ourselves into better human beings if we don’t preserver. We cannot help the world to become a better place to live if we at every our level won’t pass our values to the friends that surround us, to the communities we live in. That is our obligation, our chance to be useful. An invitation is always standing to the Brothers of other Obediences that visit Macau and want to pass sometime with fellow Brethren. We enjoy to do freemasonry. We came individually from different traditions and ways of performing the Art. There is no one better than the other: they are just different. We are strictly neutral to those little wars and quarrels that sometimes embarrass Freemasonry and made people abandon it. They are secondary, dispensable and nocible. We are not interested in who is more ‘recognised’ than the other, or more close to a loosen figure of Pope that some illuminated inside Freemasonry persist to be very concentrated as it seems to give importance to them. We just love Freemasonry. That is what guide us and keep us together. Be our guest and appear.
